Description

Magaldrate and Simethicone Oral Suspension is categorized under the antacids & anti-ulcerates which are medicines used for the management of acidity, bloating, indigestion, heartburn and gas. It is usually protected by a mucous layer from the acid production in the stomach. At times, the mucous layer is worn out because the stomach produces too much acid, which causes conditions such as acidity and heartburn. Hence, bloating is a condition that develops when the stomach or the abdominal area fills up with gas or air.

Magaldrate and Simethicone Oral Suspension is a combination of two drugs: Magaldrate which comes under the category of antacids and Simethicone which falls under the category of anti-flatulent. Magaldrate has been reported to exhibit its mechanism by reducing the effects of excessive stomach acid. Simethicone belongs to the type of antifoaming agents that reduce the surface tension of the gas bubbles letting out the gas through flatus or belching (burping). It also helps in avoiding the build-up and formation of gases in the gastrointestinal tract.
