Cefuroxime Axetil and Potassium Clavulanate Tablets– it belongs to the group of medications called antibiotics that treat a wide variety of infections due to harmful bacteria like throat infections, ear infections, and infection of the sinuses. These tablets are combinations of two medicines: cefuroxime axetil and potassium clavulanate.

Cefuroxime Axetil is an antibiotic that works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering, which is necessary for their survival. Potassium Clavulanate is a beta lactamase inhibitor that works by decreasing bacterial resistance and enhancing the activity of cefuroxime against the bacteria. 

Uses of Cefuroxime Axetil and Potassium Clavulanate Tablets

It is a broad-spectrum antibiotic which is effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including beta-lactamase-producing strains.This tablets is indicated for the treatment of patients with mild to moderate infections caused by susceptible strains of the designated microorganisms in the conditions listed below:

  • Acute bacterial maxillary sinusitis
  • Uncomplicated urinary tract infections
  • Acute bacterial otitis media
  • Uncomplicated gonorrhea
  • Pharyngitis/tonsillitis
  • Early lyme disease (erythema migrans)
  • Tooth Extraction Infection
  • Infections After Surgery

Directions for use

  • Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
  • Please inform your doctor if you have any allergy to any ingredient of it.
  • Take it with food to avoid an upset stomach.
  • Take a whole medicine, do not chew, or crush the tablet.
