Description

Atorvastatin and Fenofibrate Tablets is a combination of Lipid-lowering agents and Vitamins. It is used to lower the high cholesterol or increased cholesterol levels and triglycerides in the blood when a low-fat diet and lifestyle modifications have failed. High cholesterol is a condition in which you have too many lipids (fats) in your blood. It is also called hyperlipidemia or hypercholesterolemia.

Atorvastatin and Fenofibrate Tablets contain Atorvastatin, Fenofibrate and Folic Acid. Atorvastatin prevents your body from making ‘bad’ cholesterol (LDL), while Fenofibrate works by lowering the levels of triglycerides in your blood. Additionally, they raise ‘good’ cholesterol (HDL) levels. Folic Acid reduces the levels of a harmful substance (homocysteine), thereby decreasing cholesterol synthesis.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What can a high level of cholesterol do to you?

When you have more than your body requirements, cholesterol can result in plaque to build-up in your blood vessels. This thick, hard plaque can block your arteries like a blocked pipe. Decreased blood flow can cause heart attack and stroke.

What to do if I miss a dose?

Take the missed dose as soon as possible, or skip to the next dose if it’s been too late. Never try to take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

Can I continue eating fatty junk foods alongside taking this medicine?

Strictly no; a patient is advised to take a proper healthy diet free of oily and fatty products recommended by the doctor for the best results of this medication.

Will taking this medicine cause hyperglycemia (excess of glucose in the bloodstream)?

It contains Atorvastatin which can raise your blood sugar a little. If you already have type 2 diabetes, please consult your doctor. Your doctor may adjust the dosage of this tablet.
